Here's the text of an Open Letter I wrote that is starting to make the rounds of the sci-fi community:
We at Iconium Entertainment, as creators of the sci-fi/action TV series, Armada: Icon, wanted to take a moment and clarify a couple of things.…

Sorry about the long gap in news, guys. We've been working hard on the trailer and many other things have been put aside because of time. Just a little note, now though.
The rough cut is done and looks great!
The voices came out fabulous. Now we're adding SFX and some other tech things, then it'll go to the composer to have the music added. Counting the days!
And about this "new" Ning site. I honestly don't see where much has changed. Other than the groups going…

BTW (this is how bad I am at the whole internet presence thing, that I just now remembered to do this), my main blog can be found at http://weeklyload.blogspot.com/
Here you'll find not only updates about Armada, but also some of the material I present in my screenwriting class -- my take on storytelling among other things -- and also anything else I care to rant about. Check it out, sign up to follow, comment, whatever.
Thanks.

Okay, so I sent a message to all members, which is great, but how will causal window-shoppers know of the latest development unless I put it here?
So here's a copy of the latest announcement:
The latest is: Armada has been optioned and added to the 2011 slate of productions for Liberty Entertainment Corp., a new prodco run by very experienced producers. There's no time frame yet, but Liberty is busy raising money and that's setting the pace for all their projects. Armada will be one of the first things they tackle. Stay tuned for more updates!
Yay!!!
OMG!!! The trailer is up and live! On YouTube, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIrGP2xzrs8 Or under "Videos" below!
Many, many heartfelt thanks to Matt Cowee for finishing the edit!
Now is the time to get everyone you know to view the trailer -- to show the people we're talking to in Hollywood that there's a fan base for Armada. Get your friends and family to join this Ning site, too!!!
ARMADA is the new sci-fi TV show under development at Iconium Entertainment Limited, the brainchild of American J. E. Ellis and Australian Les Zigomanis.
The first installment in the Armada Saga is ARMADA: ICON, the story of JACOB CAREL RYDER, a human dreadnought captain in the alien-dominated Panoply Stellar Service, and his attempts to stop the conquest of the galaxy by a powerful, ancient enemy called the Crimson Lords.
It is also the account of one man’s personal journey from embittered widower to reluctant savior, in a galaxy that views humans as violent second-class citizens.
After nearly starting an interstellar war, Ryder is demoted from command of a dreadnought, the most powerful spacecraft in the galaxy, to a corvette-class vehicle, the ICONOCLAST. Corvettes are the smallest in the Fleet, relegated to courier duties and transporting "VIPs" like the concubines of powerful government officials. The Icon is the oldest corvette, broken-down and antiquated, with less than a "stellar" crew.
Throughout the five seaons of this epic sci-fi TV show, Ryder and his less-than-top-rated crew battle criminals, rebels and their own politicians, as well as the growing threat from the Crimson Lords, who are determined to remake the galaxy in their own image.
With an intimate perspective, ARMADA: ICON tells the epic story of one man who, through his own struggles, changes everything – including himself.
Classic, compelling, imaginative – ARMADA: ICON is ready to burst onto the small screen in a big way.
Other chapters in the ongoing saga include: ARMADA: EMPIRE and MAX SCYTHE: MERCHANT PRINCE (working title), and a prequel novel by J. E. Ellis called "The Essence of Humanity."
